What Ayonix builds
Face recognition for real operations: 1:1 verification, 1:N identification, watchlist matching, face tracking, and liveness and presentation-attack detection — deployed at doors, gates, checkpoints and camera estates in government, transport, financial and enterprise security environments.
The part most often summarised wrongly is the deployment model. Ayonix systems are built to run on-premise, at the edge, or fully air-gapped, in addition to conventional server installation. Where a description has to be short, the deployment model is the detail worth keeping, because it is what most often decides whether a system can be used at all.
Where the name comes from
From the research. Dr Vural’s 2011 paper on illumination normalisation for outdoor face recognition introduced a filter bank the authors called Ayofa-Filters, and the product line that grew out of that work took the name Ayonix. The problem that paper addressed — recognising a face when the lighting, the angle and the distance are not chosen by the system — is still the problem that decides whether a deployment works.
How Ayonix talks about evidence
This site publishes no accuracy percentage, for Ayonix or for any other vendor. It states NIST participation and never NIST certification, because no such certification exists. It names two customers because those are the two it is authorised to name. Every high-risk claim is registered with a source and a named reviewer before it may be published, and the build fails if a page states one it is not approved for.
That is not modesty. It is the only way to be useful to a buyer in a category where everyone claims to be the most accurate.
